On the weekend of 5-7 July, our club hosted the 2024 Sharkskin NSW IRB Championships at One Mile Beach. It was, as reported by many locals, an awesome weekend packed with thrills and spills!
Starting on Friday afternoon while the surf was 1.4m-1.8m (which is large in respect to IRB racing), the boats hit the water. Competition continued throughout Saturday, and while the swell had dropped a little, there was still plenty of sets to challenge the IRB racing teams.
Sunday was Finals Day, and the strong competition did not disappoint the spectators. Our beach saw visitors of all ages come to watch the action.
Check out our photo gallery below to see some of the excitement, or view our Instagram for the video reels.
The competition closed on Sunday afternoon with overall club pointscore winners Caves Beach taking out the 2024 Champion Club.
